Oto-Awori LCDA Chairman, Kareem Flags Off Jesuwame Road Construction in Oto-Awori LCDA

The Executive Chairman of Oto-Awori Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Kareem Azeez Abiodun, has officially flagged off the construction of Jesuwame Road, in a move described as a major step in the council’s commitment to infrastructural renewal and community development.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Hon. Kareem reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to the principle of continuity, stressing that ongoing projects would be completed within the shortest possible time. He appealed to community leaders and residents to cooperate with the contractors, assuring that the project would meet high standards and be delivered within 100 days.

According to him, the road project will not only boost economic activities in the area but also feature solar-powered street lights to enhance security and night-time business operations.

The Chairman further urged residents to support the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and take advantage of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, which commenced today. He also cautioned against indiscriminate refuse dumping on roads and drainage channels, warning that the council would enforce lawful measures against violators.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Council Manager commended Hon. Kareem’s commitment to massive infrastructural development, describing Jesuwame Street as the starting point of a broader plan to transform communities within Oto-Awori LCDA.

The Chairman of Jesuwame Community Development Association (CDA), Alhaji Taiwo Tajudeen, expressed appreciation for the project, noting that it would benefit eight communities under the CDA. He pledged the community’s cooperation, including prompt payment of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to support the council’s developmental agenda.

The ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, including the Vice Chairman, Hon. Moses Olabisi Aina; Leader of the House, Hon. Sulaiman Audu Awoyemi; councillors; CDC Chairman, Mr. Bodunrin Mendes; traditional rulers; council officials; and APC stalwarts.

The construction of Jesuwame Road, with its accompanying streetlights, is expected to transform the locality, ease transportation, enhance security, and significantly improve the quality of life for residents of Oto-Awori LCDA.
