The Federal Government has officially declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to mark the Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who extended warm greetings to all Muslims across Nigeria and in the Diaspora as they prepare to observe this significant occasion.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo encouraged the Muslim faithful to embrace the values of sacrifice, obedience, and unwavering faith as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him). He also urged them to use the festive period to pray for peace, unity, and prosperity in Nigeria.
In a statement released by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to people-centered reforms under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. According to him, these efforts are geared toward putting the country back on a path of meaningful progress.
As the nation joins in the celebration, Dr. Tunji-Ojo wished Muslims a joyful and fulfilling Eid-ul-Adha and called on all Nigerians to support the administration’s drive to restore Nigeria’s greatness.
