Seyi Tinubu and VeryDarkMan

Popular social media commentator Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has expressed readiness to campaign for Seyi Tinubu, should he decide to contest the Lagos governorship race.

Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, has reportedly been the subject of growing speculation regarding his political ambitions. While acknowledging the rumors, Otse noted that the supposed campaign efforts remain in a preliminary stage, with supporters still gauging public sentiment.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, VDM revealed his uncharacteristic willingness to engage in politics if it meant supporting Seyi.

“If Seyi Tinubu decides to run for governorship, I’ll campaign for him. Though I don’t involve myself in politics, I’ll do it because of him,” he said.

VDM, a known advocate for increased youth participation in governance, explained that his support stems from his belief in Seyi’s potential to drive meaningful change.

“Based on my calculation, Seyi Tinubu is a bridge to achieving something I believe will make Nigeria work,” he stated. “I’ve been studying Seyi Tinubu’s pattern; he seems to have his father’s political mentality.”

However, VDM acknowledged that Seyi might encounter resistance from established political figures who perceive him as a threat.

“The problem is these older men know that if Seyi Tinubu becomes governor, they’ll be kicked out of power. They’ve seen the traits of his father in him, so it’ll be a problem,” he said.

He added that while the timing may not favor Seyi, especially with his father still in office, the possibility of him eventually becoming governor cannot be dismissed.

“Politics is a game of interest, and anything can happen,” VDM concluded.

The commentary has sparked debate online, with many analyzing the potential implications of Seyi Tinubu entering Lagos’ political scene.
