The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 52 year old Islamic teacher, Jubril Ibrahim, over allegations that he prepared charms for suspected kidnappers operating across Edo North.
The police accused Ibrahim of providing spiritual items allegedly intended to protect or assist criminal elements involved in kidnapping activities.
His arrest comes as security agencies intensify efforts to dismantle kidnapping networks by targeting not only suspected abductors but also those allegedly providing logistical, spiritual or other forms of support.
Investigators are now working to establish the full extent of Ibrahim’s alleged involvement and identify possible links to other members of the suspected network.
The police have reiterated that anyone found providing support to criminal activities will face the full weight of the law.
