UPDATE: Mowo-Agemowo Road Reconstruction and Expansion Hits 65% Completion in First Phase in Olorunda LCDA

The reconstruction and expansion of the long-abandoned Mowo-Agemowo Road in Olorunda Local Council Development Area has reached over 65 percent completion in its first phase, according to a project update posted on Facebook by the Office of the Executive Chairman of the council.

According to the post, the project is one of the flagship infrastructure initiatives of the Kumayon administration and is aimed at restoring a critical road that had suffered decades of neglect despite repeated appeals from residents.

During a recent inspection of the project, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, explained that the road is being reconstructed in phases because of its several-kilometre length and the limited financial resources available to the council. The first phase covers a 600-metre stretch.

Hon. Kumayon expressed optimism that subsequent phases would commence as funds become available, with the goal of completing the entire road before the end of his tenure.

He recalled that the last significant government intervention on the road was over 30 years ago when he served as Vice Chairman of the then Badagry Local Government, noting that only a few metres of drainage were constructed at the time.

Residents have welcomed the ongoing work, describing it as a long-awaited intervention that will improve mobility, boost economic activities, and bring lasting relief to communities along the corridor.
