Residents of Morogbo and surrounding communities in Olorunda Local Council Development Area have been assured of improved access to quality healthcare services as the Executive Chairman of Olorunda LCDA, Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, has commenced the total reconstruction of the Morogbo Primary Healthcare Centre following the demolition of the old and defective structure.
The decision to pull down the existing building was taken after serious concerns were raised by medical personnel over the safety of the facility. According to the council chairman, the complaints prompted an assessment by the council engineer, who confirmed that the structure had become defective and was no longer suitable for healthcare delivery.
Speaking on the development, Hon. Ajose said the safety of healthcare workers and patients remains a top priority of his administration, stressing that no health facility should operate under conditions that could endanger lives or hinder effective service delivery.
To ensure uninterrupted healthcare services during the reconstruction period, all equipment and medical operations at the Morogbo PHC have been relocated to the Yeponawa Primary Healthcare Centre located in the Church Gate area of Olorunda LCDA. The facility was recently refurbished by the Ajose administration as part of its achievements within the chairman's first 100 days in office.
Hon. Ajose disclosed that the new Morogbo Primary Healthcare Centre, upon completion, will be equipped with modern medical facilities and staffed with adequate healthcare professionals to provide efficient and quality medical services to residents of Morogbo and neighbouring communities.
He reiterated that quality primary healthcare delivery remains one of the key pillars of his administration and aligns with his RESHAPE Agenda aimed at improving the welfare and living standards of the people of Olorunda LCDA.
The reconstruction project is expected to significantly strengthen healthcare infrastructure in the council area and further demonstrate the administration's commitment to delivering people-oriented projects that directly impact the lives of residents.
