Barrister Sunday Emmanuel Kappo, a prominent legal practitioner from Badagry, has been reappointed as a member of the Audit Service Commission in Lagos State, marking a renewed vote of confidence in his service and experience.
Kappo, who previously served on the commission until the expiration of his first term in 2025, returns to the statutory body following the approval of his nomination by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu. His reappointment is part of a broader move by the state government to strengthen the operations of key statutory commissions and ensure continuity in governance.
The announcement, made in an official statement, noted that the appointments were in line with the administration’s commitment to maintaining efficiency, accountability, and transparency across government institutions in Lagos State.
Alongside Kappo, other individuals appointed to the Audit Service Commission include Mrs Kikelomo Arinola Dawodu, Mrs Bukola Ogunnowo, Ms Omotayo Gbajabiamila-Olamona, and Mr Bowale Shosimi.
Observers say Kappo’s return to the commission is expected to further enhance its oversight functions, given his previous contributions and familiarity with its mandate. His reappointment has also been welcomed by stakeholders in Badagry, who view it as recognition of the constituency’s continued relevance in state affairs.
The Audit Service Commission plays a critical role in ensuring fiscal discipline and promoting best practices in public sector auditing across the state. With the newly constituted members, expectations are high for improved performance and sustained institutional integrity.
