Prince Samuel Mawutin Ofade’s position is not driven by bitterness or personal ambition; it is rooted in truth, accountability, and the urgent need for responsible representation in Badagry Constituency II.
For too long, political leadership in the constituency has relied on longevity, titles, and recycled promises rather than measurable performance. Ofade is right to insist that years in office mean nothing without visible constituency projects, equitable empowerment, and consistent grassroots engagement.
The comparison with first-time legislators such as Hon. Abiodun Orekoya (Shomolu Constituency I) and Hon. Bonu Solomon (Badagry Constituency I) clearly exposes the fallacy that experience automatically delivers results.
These lawmakers have demonstrated that effective representation is about commitment, not tenure—through impactful motions, transparency, and people-centered empowerment.
Ofade is also right to challenge the repeated use of the “Speakership of LAHA” as a campaign tool. Speakership is neither a birthright nor a reward for longevity; it is determined by legislative dynamics, party consensus, and political credibility. Selling such an uncertain ambition to the people as a guarantee is political deception, not leadership.
At the heart of Ofade’s message is a simple democratic truth: constituents deserve dividends of democracy before elections, not promises during campaigns. Empowerment must be inclusive, developmental, and sustainable—not selective, symbolic, or transactional.
By calling on the people of Badagry Constituency II to demand accountability, Ofade speaks the language of modern democracy.
Silence enables mediocrity; truth compels progress. Leaders who fear scrutiny often label criticism as bitterness, but history shows that every meaningful political reform begins with uncomfortable truths.
In 2027, Badagry Constituency II faces a clear choice: repeat the cycle of excuses or embrace people-driven leadership anchored on vision, integrity, and performance.
Prince Samuel Mawutin Ofade is right because Badagry Constituency II deserves better—and demanding better is not rebellion; it is civic responsibility.
