In Badagry Local Government, troubling moves are quietly unfolding, schemes clearly designed to drag our constituency backwards and weaken our collective capacity to produce a well grounded representative, a leader fit for the demands of the 21st century and capable of standing shoulder to shoulder with others across Lagos State.
Let it be stated clearly and without ambiguity. Our resolve in Badagry Constituency II is firm and unshaken. We are determined to re present Hon Samuel Setonji David for a fourth term at the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Badagry needs more than political slogans and shallow gestures. We need a true indigenous representative, one who understands the people beyond tribal sentiment, who knows our problems beyond stomach infrastructure, and who possesses the technical depth to deliver real infrastructure, skills development and long term progress. Over the years, Hon Samuel Setonji David has consistently demonstrated these qualities. That is the simple reason he enjoys genuine love and loyalty among the people.
His legislative journey also tells a powerful story. His emergence as a principal officer of the House, the first ever by any representative from Badagry in that chamber, did not happen by accident. It is proof that lawmaking is a process that rewards training, experience and consistency. The longer a lawmaker stays and performs, the more value he brings, not just to his constituency but to the state at large. It is for this reason that Constituency II is committed to re presenting Hon Samuel Setonji David, not to settle for lesser roles, but to elevate Badagry beyond the margins and into positions of real influence.
One must ask a hard question. How do we produce politicians of substance if we keep discarding capable people we have invested our votes in, people who are performing beyond mere rhetoric. Representation is not about tribal appeal or political noise. It must be anchored on development, continuity and results.
The ongoing shenanigans by some actors within the state executive structure of the Badagry division, aimed at forcing out our Assemblyman for selfish political gains, will not be accepted. Such actions carry consequences, and we sincerely hope they do not backfire to damage their own long term political standing. History is still fresh. We remember how our illustrious brother was treated in the House, how he was turned into an enemy despite his grassroots efforts in mobilising Badagry votes for the victories of our political leaders, including PBAT and the current governor. The neglect and political miscalculations of the past are part of the reasons Badagry Local Government is grappling with challenges today.
But let it be known, they are not God.
Badagry Constituency II stands united and resolute behind Hon Samuel Setonji David. All attempts to remove him through manipulation or rigging will fail. Our position is clear, our voice is firm, and our resolve is final.
