The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Motonmori Olatokunbo KEKERE-EKUN has appointed a Badagry born legal practitioner, Kudofoke Oluwatosin Deyon, alongside twenty-five other lawyers, as Notary Public in a move that further underscores confidence in their professional standing and integrity within the legal system.
The appointment, which was conveyed through an official instrument issued by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, authorises the newly appointed Notary Public to administer the statutory oath on legal practitioners in Kano State in line with the provisions of the Notaries Public Act 2023.
Confirming the development, Kudofoke Oluwatosin disclosed that he would be formally sworn in by the Chief Judge of Kano State on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. The swearing in ceremony is scheduled to hold at the Conference Room of the Kano State High Court of Justice Complex, Audu Bako Secretariat, Kano, by 3:30 pm.
An appointment letter sighted by Badagry Today explained that the selected Notary Public are to oversee the administration of oath to legal practitioners who have met all statutory requirements including the payment of prescribed fees. The oaths, once administered, are to be forwarded under registered cover to the appropriate office for documentation and pasting in the official Oath Book.
