Badagry has emerged as one of the leading local governments in the ongoing All Progressives Congress APC membership e registration exercise in Lagos State, securing a place among the top three performing councils in the latest official update.
Data released from the APC Membership E Registration Dashboard as at 9 pm on Friday January 16 2026 according to Lagos Mirror, shows impressive participation across the state with Badagry Local Government recording 15,970 registered members. This figure represents 6.2 percent of the total registrations statewide, a performance that places the historic division third on the table and ahead of several politically dominant councils.
Ikorodu Local Government currently leads the chart with 23,857 registered members accounting for 9.3 percent of total entries, while Alimosho follows in second position with 21,004 registrations representing 8.2 percent.
Badagry’s strong showing has been described by party stakeholders as a clear signal of renewed political awakening and grassroots mobilisation within the axis, long regarded as one of Lagos most culturally rich and politically strategic divisions.
Other local governments posting notable figures include Ikeja with 15,020 registrations, Kosofe with 14,113, Surulere with 13,926, Epe with 13,918 and Ibeju Lekki with 13,785. Somolu and Mushin complete the top ten with 13,646 and 13,467 registrations respectively.
The figures highlight a growing wave of engagement with the ruling party across Lagos State as the APC e registration exercise continues to gain momentum. Observers say the trend reflects increased grassroots interest ahead of future political activities and internal party processes, with Badagry’s performance standing out as a statement of intent from the ancient town.
