The Seme border community is set to witness a significant boost in healthcare access as the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents, ANLCA Seme Chapter, rolls out a full-scale health awareness programme, free medical outreach, and the official commissioning of a new sickbay.
The initiative, driven by the leadership of Alhaji Abioye Wasiu Olohuntoyin, popularly known as WAXTEE, is slated for Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 9am to 3pm at the ANLCA Secretariat in Seme.
According to Badagry Radio, which reported the development, the programme is being organised in collaboration with other sister associations, marking a coordinated effort to improve the wellbeing of customs agents, traders, residents, and all stakeholders who operate daily along the busy border corridor.
Under WAXTEE’s administration, the chapter has continued to push for better welfare and safer working conditions for its members, and the health outreach is seen as another strategic step in that direction.
Organisers say the event is designed to offer timely medical attention, preventive health education, and access to basic healthcare services for free. It aligns with the message driving the campaign: health is wealth, and early medical attention saves lives.
Medical professionals will be on ground to conduct routine checks, provide health counselling, run screenings, and administer basic treatments to participants at no cost. The newly established sickbay, which will also be commissioned during the programme, is expected to serve as a first-response point for health emergencies within the border environment, reducing delays and helping to stabilise patients before they are referred to bigger facilities.
A Badagry Radio correspondent at the Seme axis confirmed that preparations are already in top gear, with ANLCA leadership mobilising members, partner associations, and community groups to ensure a smooth and impactful event.
Residents, transporters, and customs agents operating around the Seme border are encouraged to make use of the opportunity, especially those who may not have access to regular medical checkups.
For enquiries and participation, the organisers can be reached on 0803 332 0287, 0802 304 0242, and 0803 405 2538.
With this initiative, ANLCA Seme Chapter continues to strengthen its reputation as a body committed not only to trade facilitation but to the welfare and overall wellbeing of the community it serves.
