100 Days in Office: Bonu Hails RIKAY’s Strides, Urges Residents to Back Chairman’s Vision and Secure PVCs for Tinubu’s Re-Election

Badagry West witnessed a blend of celebration, reflection and renewed political charge as Hon Bonu Solomon Saanu, the member representing Badagry Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, publicly commended the Executive Chairman of Badagry West LCDA, Hon Rauf Ibrahim Kayode Yemaren, RIKAY, for what he described as an impressive and promising first 100 days in office.

Speaking at the grand finale of the 100 Days in Office Celebration held at the proposed Apa-Ganyingbo Stadium, Hon Bonu praised RIKAY for hitting the ground running and delivering projects that speak directly to the needs of the people. He noted that the chairman’s approach to governance reflects seriousness, capacity and a clear plan for development in Badagry West.

Bonu, who also hails from the council area, highlighted some of the projects already launched, including the foundation for a five hundred-capacity Computer Based Test Centre in Ganyingbo and a modern Primary Health Centre in Asheri, a strategic border community. He expressed optimism that these projects, and others in the pipeline, would be completed and commissioned within the next six months.

In his message, the lawmaker appealed to the management staff and technocrats within the council to give their full backing to RIKAY, stressing that smooth collaboration within government structures is key to sustaining the administration's momentum. According to him, the chairman is poised to take Badagry West to a new phase of development aligned with the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Hon Bonu also used the occasion to rally residents, particularly newly eligible voters and those with unresolved registration issues, to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise. He urged them to register, update their details or retrieve their Permanent Voter Cards, insisting that every vote would count toward securing President Tinubu’s re-election.

While the political messages resonated strongly, the event also showcased RIKAY’s commitment to grassroots empowerment. As part of the celebration themed 100 Days of Renewed Hope, Action and Accountability, the chairman unveiled a comprehensive empowerment programme targeted at artisans and small business owners across the council.

The atmosphere at the venue was electric as beneficiaries received business tools designed to improve their productivity and expand their means of livelihood. Among the items distributed were motorcycles, grinding machines, tiling equipment, welding machines, wheelchairs, clippers paired with generators and several other trade-specific tools.

Residents described the initiative as one of the most impactful gestures of the new administration, noting that it demonstrates RIKAY’s focus on practical solutions that lift households and stimulate local economic activities.

With strong commendations from lawmakers, visible developmental strides and a growing base of community support, RIKAY’s 100 days in office have set a tone of purpose and direction. And as political attention shifts toward national leadership in 2027, calls for PVC registration and voter readiness have once again taken centre stage in Badagry West.
