Mowo Petrol Attendant Arraigned for Allegedly Stealing ₦2.47m in Badagry

A 24-year-old petrol attendant, Teslim Gbadamosi, has been arraigned before the Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing ₦2,477,000 belonging to his employer.

The police told the court that the incident occurred on September 26 at 7 Express Filling Station, located in Mowo along the Badagry Expressway, Lagos.

According to the prosecutor, Edet Ekpo, the money—proceeds from three days of fuel sales—was allegedly stolen by the defendant, who was later arrested and handed over to the police.

Gbadamosi, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge, which contravenes Section 287 of the Lagos State Criminal Law of 2015.

Chief Magistrate Nurudeen Layeni granted the defendant bail in the sum of ₦1 million with two sureties in like sum. He added that one of the sureties must be a recognized community leader with at least two years of tax clearance.

The case was adjourned until November 19 for further mention.
