Top media personality Posu Davies, who is also the media officer to Hon. Engr. Setonji David, Deputy Chief Whip of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has announced plans to host the Badagry Unity Political Conference in a bold move to reshape political communication in Badagry.
The conference, according to him, slated for early October, is designed to bring together Personal Assistants, Media Personalities, and Spokespersons of political leaders across Badagry for a strategic conversation aimed at strengthening unity and improving political engagement.
Davies, in his announcement, emphasized the influence of social media in local politics, noting that while it has become an unavoidable tool, its use must be intentional and responsible.
“Social media has a side role it plays in Badagry politics. You may not agree with me totally, but it is a stratum. Our internet engagement should be such that it projects us in a good light. It shouldn’t tear us apart,” he stressed.
He explained that many of the political disagreements and misconceptions amplified online could be better resolved through personal communication. “Ordinarily, a call to your friend who is a Personal Assistant to a public office holder would solve many of these issues,” he added.
The Unity Political Conference will serve as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and idea-sharing among political aides and media voices in Badagry. Davies described it as an opportunity for stakeholders to “rub minds together, look beyond differences, and project the future of Badagry politics on the global map.”
Details of the arrangement are expected to be released later this week.
“With love and unity, we can achieve it,” Davies concluded, rallying support for the October event.
