Lagos Govt Opens LASRERA Satellite Office in Surulere to Boost Real Estate Regulation

The Lagos State Real Estate Regulatory Authority (LASRERA) has expanded its reach with the commissioning of a new Satellite Office in Surulere, Lagos, bringing its services closer to residents in the area.

The office, strategically located within the premises of the Surulere Local Government, was officially declared open today by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing, Barr. Barakat Odunuga Bakare.

In her remarks, Barr. Odunuga Bakare said the Surulere Satellite Office was established to serve as a one-stop centre for real estate regulation and public engagement. She explained that the office will make it easier for real estate practitioners to register their businesses, access vital industry information, and resolve disputes relating to property transactions.

“This office will enable real estate practitioners to register their businesses seamlessly and obtain vital information about the sector. It will also provide a platform where conflicts and knotty issues relating to real estate transactions can be brought forward for resolution. Additionally, the office will serve as a vital hub for data collection to support government policy and planning in the real estate sector,” she said.

She noted that the initiative forms part of the Lagos State Government’s broader vision to replicate LASRERA offices across all Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs). According to her, this expansion will ensure that the benefits of regulation, transparency, and stakeholder protection are accessible to all Lagosians, regardless of location.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment, the Special Adviser stressed that Lagos is determined to create a transparent and enabling real estate sector that conforms to international best practices while protecting the interests of all stakeholders.

With the opening of the Surulere office, LASRERA is expected to strengthen its role in fostering order, fairness, and accountability in the state’s growing property market.
