The Lagos State Police Command has foiled a suspected human trafficking operation in Badagry, rescuing three young girls allegedly being trafficked along Owode-Apa Road.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Ani Iniedu, disclosed this in a statement shared on his X account on Friday.
According to him, a team of police officers on routine patrol intercepted a commercial motorcycle conveying the three girls along the Owode-Apa Road axis of Badagry.
Preliminary interrogation reportedly revealed that the girls were victims of human trafficking, prompting the officers to rescue and debrief them.
The police spokesperson added that efforts were ongoing to track down and apprehend the suspected traffickers.
He further disclosed that the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, for further investigation.
