The Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), Lagos Chapter, has inaugurated its Badagry Federation campaign secretariat, unveiled campaign vehicles and inaugurated 4,120 polling unit ambassadors as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration ceremony, held in Badagry on Friday, attracted prominent political stakeholders, including the three council chairmen in Badagry Division, state and federal lawmakers, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates, traditional and religious leaders, community leaders and youths.
Among the dignitaries at the event were the RHA Lagos Chairman and member of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Cardinal James Odunmbaku; Lagos APC Deputy Governorship Candidate, Princess Damilola Sonayon James; the Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor and RHA State Coordinator, Mr Tayo Ayinde; and the Vice Director-General of PBAT/KOH in Lagos West, Fatai Ayoola.
Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Lagos APC governorship candidate, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, Princess James-Sonayon assured residents that the promises contained in Hamzat's The Lagos Promise manifesto would be fulfilled if he emerges governor in 2027.
She explained that the proposed administration would prioritise inclusive governance, ensuring that communities across Lagos State experience the impact of government policies through effective service delivery and equitable distribution of development initiatives.
According to her, a Hamzat-led administration would also decentralise public services and institutionalise regular town hall meetings to enable residents to communicate their concerns directly to the government and contribute to policy decisions.
She urged the newly inaugurated polling unit ambassadors and grassroots coordinators to intensify their mobilisation efforts across communities, stressing the importance of unity and collective commitment among APC members as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
Also addressing the gathering, Ayinde charged the polling unit coordinators to maintain effective communication with residents in their respective communities and strengthen grassroots engagement ahead of the elections.
The Chief of Staff, who joined Princess James-Sonayon in commissioning the campaign secretariat and vehicles, said the Renewed Hope Ambassadors were committed to securing victory for all APC candidates in Lagos State in the forthcoming general elections.
Speaking on the mobilisation structure, the RHA Coordinator for Badagry Federation and Lagos State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Layode, disclosed that 4,120 polling unit ambassadors had been selected across the federation's 412 polling units, with each unit assigned 10 ambassadors.
Layode said the ambassadors had been adequately briefed on their respective responsibilities and were already holding regular meetings with their directorates to ensure effective coordination, communication and mobilisation at the grassroots.
He expressed confidence in the mobilisation structure, noting that the establishment of the campaign secretariat and deployment of campaign vehicles would further strengthen the organisation's capacity to reach communities and coordinate political activities across the Badagry Federation.
The inauguration marks another step in the APC's preparations for the 2027 general elections, with the Renewed Hope Ambassadors positioning their grassroots network to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat and other party candidates in Lagos State.
