Teenage Girls Focus has announced the sixth edition of its annual International Day of the Girl Child celebration, with a lineup of activities aimed at inspiring, empowering and equipping teenage girls for the future.
The Convener and initiator of Teenage Girls Focus, Mrs. Popoola Grace Oluwapelumi, disclosed this in a statement shared on Facebook, saying the organisation has spent the last six years promoting the growth, confidence, purpose and potential of the girl child.
According to her, the forthcoming celebration will bring together teenage girls for a day of learning, mentorship, entertainment and meaningful interaction, with activities designed to address issues affecting their personal development and wellbeing.
She said the 6th edition would feature seasoned speakers who will engage participants on important areas of their lives, while mentorship and guidance sessions will provide the girls with practical knowledge and direction as they navigate their teenage years.
The programme will also focus on mental and emotional wellness, talent discovery, purpose and identity, as well as networking opportunities that will enable participants to connect, learn from one another and build valuable relationships.
Beyond the educational and mentorship sessions, the organisers have also promised fun activities and exciting giveaways to make the celebration memorable for the participants.
Popoola described the initiative as part of the organisation's continued investment in the girl child, stressing the importance of creating platforms where young girls can discover themselves, build confidence and understand their potential.
She called on teenage girls and other stakeholders interested in the development of the girl child to join the celebration scheduled to hold on Monday, October 12, 2026.
She said the event would provide another opportunity to inspire, empower and invest in girls as valuable assets to the future.
