What was expected to be another night of dominance for street-hop sensation Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, turned into a shocking upset on Friday night as social media comedian and content creator Carter Efe handed the ZaZoo crooner his first-ever celebrity boxing defeat.
The highly anticipated clash took place at the Balmoral Hall of the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, during the fourth edition of the Chaos in the Ring celebrity boxing event, with fans, celebrities and entertainment lovers watching closely as both entertainers settled their long-running war of words inside the ring.
Portable, who had previously defeated actors and entertainers Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington to establish himself as the self-acclaimed king of celebrity boxing, entered the bout full of confidence and swagger. The controversial singer had boasted repeatedly before the fight that Carter Efe would become another easy victim on his growing list.
“I will use you to collect my third belt. Charles Okocha was bigger than you, Speed Darlington was bigger than you, and I beat them. I will beat you now,” Portable had declared ahead of the showdown.
But Carter Efe appeared completely unfazed by the threats and confidence of the street artiste. The skit maker responded boldly with a chilling warning of his own.
“One punch and you fall,” he fired back.
True to his words, Carter Efe delivered a composed and disciplined performance that completely unsettled Portable throughout the three-round encounter.
Portable started the opening round aggressively, throwing wild punches and attempting to overwhelm his opponent with pressure and energy. However, Carter Efe remained calm under pressure, using his height advantage effectively while landing clean uppercuts and calculated body shots that immediately exposed weaknesses in Portable’s fighting style.
The second round saw Portable continue with the same reckless approach, swinging wildly and repeatedly clinching whenever Efe closed the distance. But the comedian gradually took control of the fight, connecting with sharper combinations and cleaner punches that visibly frustrated the singer.
By the third round, the pattern had become obvious. Carter Efe looked more composed, tactical and accurate, while Portable struggled to land meaningful punches despite his constant aggression. Efe continued to pick his shots smartly until the final bell rang.
At the end of the contest, all three judges scored the bout 27-30 in favour of Carter Efe, confirming a unanimous victory for the comedian and officially ending Portable’s unbeaten run in celebrity boxing.
The result also crowned Carter Efe as the new celebrity boxing champion, while Portable was forced to surrender the status he had proudly carried after his previous victories.
The dramatic defeat has already sparked massive reactions across social media, with fans praising Carter Efe’s composure and discipline while others mocked Portable for failing to back up his pre-fight confidence inside the ring.
