Police–Youth Dialogue Kicks Off Tomorrow Across Lagos State, UNICEF Ambassador Ajande Pascal Urges Badagry Youth to Participate

The stage is set for the highly anticipated Police–Youth Dialogue 3.0, an initiative of the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development (MYSD) aimed at strengthening trust, understanding, and collaboration between young people and the police across the state.

This year’s edition, themed “The Power of Partnership: Cultivating Trust and Understanding Between Youth and Law Enforcement Agencies,” will officially commence tomorrow, November 4, 2025, at the Ikeja Division. The series will run from November 4 to 13, 2025, across the five divisions of Lagos State, culminating in a grand closing ceremony at the Anchor Events Centre, Agidingbi, Ikeja.

The dialogue will hold in Ikorodu Division on November 5, Lagos Division on November 6, Badagry Division on November 7, and Epe Division on November 10. The grand finale and closing ceremony will take place on November 11, 2025.

In Badagry, the engagement will be held at the Badagry Chamber Hall, Badagry Local Government Secretariat, on Friday, November 7, starting at 10:00 a.m. prompt, with Barrister Mausi Asokere Esq as the Guest Speaker speaker.

Ahead of the event, UNICEF YOMA Ambassador Ajande Pascal Viweavo issued a passionate call to young people in Badagry Division, urging them to seize the opportunity to make their voices heard.

“This dialogue is about bridging the gap between our youths and law enforcement officers,” Ajande said. “I encourage all young people in Badagry to turn out in large numbers. Your experiences, concerns, and ideas matter, they will help shape the recommendations that the Ministry will use to improve community safety and mutual respect.”

The dialogue series promises to provide a safe platform for honest conversations, shared learning, and collaborative solutions on policing, youth empowerment, and social inclusion.

The programme will feature youth leaders, police representatives, civil society advocates, and government officials, all working toward a shared goal; fostering peace, understanding, and trust in Lagos communities.

As the countdown begins, expectations are high that the initiative will further strengthen the relationship between the police and young people, paving the way for a safer and more inclusive Lagos.

“Together, we can redefine trust and build lasting partnerships,” Ajande concluded, echoing the spirit of the dialogue.
