Residents, UN YOMA Ambassador Ajande Applaud RIKAY Over Ongoing Road Rehabilitation in Badagry West

In a move that has brought relief and excitement to residents, the Executive Chairman of Badagry West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Rauf Ibrahim Kayode Yemaren, popularly known as RIKAY, has begun the grading and sandfilling of several inner roads across communities in the area.

The ongoing project, which has already covered parts of Asheri, Kweme, Farasimme, and adjoining communities, aims to ease movement and improve accessibility, particularly in flood-prone areas that have suffered from poor road conditions during the rainy season.

Residents have commended the council chairman for what they described as a timely and people-oriented initiative. Among those who praised the project is United Nations YOMA Ambassador, Pascal Viweavo Ajande, who expressed his gratitude on behalf of the youths of Kweme Kingdom.

In a message shared with Badagry Today, Ambassador Ajande said:

“As a son of Kweme Kingdom, I am writing to express my heartfelt appreciation to Hon. Ibrahim Kayode Yemaren for deploying tippers of sand to fill the remaining portion of the Kweme road, making it motorable. This initiative has brought immense relief to the residents, particularly during the rainy season.”

He added,

“I urge the community to continue supporting and acknowledging the efforts of our leaders. On behalf of the youths of Kweme Kingdom, I say thank you, Chairman, for your kindness and commitment to improving our infrastructure.”

Hon. Yemaren, while speaking on the development, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructural renewal and equitable development across the LCDA.

“No community in Badagry West will be left behind in our development agenda,” he assured.

The road rehabilitation exercise, which has already improved transportation in several parts of the LCDA, is expected to continue in other communities in the coming days, as the council intensifies efforts to make inner roads across Badagry West more accessible and motorable.
