In what could be described as an unbelievable twist, a 25-year-old man, Kehinde Abiodun, has found himself in deeper trouble after allegedly stealing ₦50,000 right inside the Morogbo Police Station while being questioned for a previous theft.
According to the prosecutor, Edet Ekpo, the incident happened on October 7 at the Morogbo Police Station along the Lagos–Badagry Expressway. Abiodun, who was already in custody for allegedly conspiring with others to steal property worth ₦121,000 from one Usman Mohammed, reportedly stole the money belonging to Rebecca Immosemi during his interrogation.
Ekpo explained that the accused’s actions violated Sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Presiding over the case, Chief Magistrate Nurudeen Layeni granted Abiodun bail in the sum of ₦500,000, with two sureties in like amount—one of whom must be a recognized community leader.
The case was adjourned to October 22 for further mention.
