The Akogun of Oto-Awori Kingdom in Oto-Awori Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Chief Abimbola Kehinde Avoseh, has been officially elevated to join the prestigious Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs, Badagry Today has learned.
Chief Abimbola Kehinde Avoseh was among the newly elevated chiefs and Baales who received their official letters of elevation from the Lagos State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. According to a Facebook post by Prince Adesina A. Aina ( the Aremo Ọba Oloto Awori), Chief Avoseh’s inclusion in the council is seen as a major achievement for the Oto-Awori Kingdom and the Awori people at large.
In his congratulatory message, Prince Adeshina Aina described Chief Avoseh as a simple, humble, and peace-loving leader whose contributions have positively shaped the growth and development of Oto-Awori, Badagry Division, and Lagos State as a whole.
The Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs plays a crucial advisory role to the government on traditional and cultural affairs, as well as community development. Chief Avoseh’s elevation is expected to further strengthen the voice of the Awori people within the council and enhance the recognition of Oto-Awori Kingdom in Lagos State.
The development has since sparked celebrations across Oto-Awori Kingdom, with indigenes and residents hailing it as a proud moment in the community’s history.
