VIDEO: Mystery as Man’s Body Found Intact 23 Years After Burial During Road Construction

What began as a routine road expansion in Iwo has turned into a town-wide mystery after construction workers unearthed a decades-old grave containing an astonishing discovery.

The grave, believed to have been sealed 23 years ago, held the remains of a couple buried side by side. While the wife’s body had fully decomposed with time, the husband’s corpse was found in an unusually preserved state — his body still intact, clothing clean and shockingly untouched by decay.

The unexpected find occurred as demolition crews cleared old structures to make way for a new dual-carriageway road in the ancient town. According to SirLeacon Adewale, an Iwo resident who shared the incident on Facebook, the sight left many speechless.

“This is beyond explanation,” he wrote. “People gathered in disbelief. Some see it as a sign, others say it's a miracle.”

Since the revelation, the town has been abuzz with speculation. While some locals interpret the discovery as a spiritual message or divine sign, others are urging authorities to investigate further — possibly through scientific means — to understand the rare preservation of the man’s remains.

So far, no official statement has been released by local government officials, religious leaders, or medical professionals. But the incident has already captured widespread attention on social media and in local discussions, with many residents visiting the site out of curiosity and wonder.

As road construction continues in Iwo, the mystery of the preserved body has left a lasting impression, turning an ordinary public works project into a story that’s likely to linger in the town’s collective memory for years to come.
