As Badagry approaches a crucial moment in its local government leadership selection, it is important that we take time to reflect and evaluate those aspiring to serve. Leadership is more than just holding office—it’s about having a clear vision, a plan for action, a proven track record, and a leadership style rooted in service.

Over the years, the name Hon. Babatunde Hunpe has become familiar across Badagry. From the grassroots to the heart of politics, I have had the privilege of serving in various capacities. Beyond politics, I am a seasoned administrator known for prioritizing integrity, accountability, and results.

During my time in public service, I embraced a humble and strategic approach to leadership—one that delivered meaningful progress and community-focused development. Today, I offer myself once again to serve, bringing with me a renewed vision for Badagry.

My Vision for a Greater Badagry

If elected as Chairman, I will focus on blending innovation with inclusive governance, ensuring every voice counts and every community benefits. Our administration will prioritize:

• Sustainable Commerce and Business Growth
  We will create an enabling environment for local businesses to thrive. This includes supporting market women, empowering our youth through entrepreneurship programs, and unlocking Badagry’s rich potential in tourism, culture, and heritage. Tourism is deeply tied to our identity, and we must harness it to drive economic growth and create jobs.

• Education as a Pillar of Development
  Education remains one of our top priorities. We will invest in our public primary schools by setting up mini libraries to encourage reading from a young age. Teachers will receive the support and recognition they deserve through regular seminars, awards, and capacity-building initiatives. We will also introduce leadership conferences for educational administrators to strengthen school management and drive better outcomes.

• Continuity in Infrastructure, Health, and Security
  We understand that development must be sustained. That is why we will build on existing infrastructure projects while launching new ones aimed at improving healthcare access and community safety.

At the heart of this vision is a commitment to transparency, collaboration, and results. I believe that with your support, we can build a Badagry that works for everyone—a place where development is not just promised, but delivered.
