Woman Renounces PDP Membership as Seyi Tinubu Awards ₦50,000 Business Grant to 500 Women in Badagry

A major political shift played out in Badagry as a woman publicly renounced her membership in the People's Democratic Party (PDP) after receiving a ₦50,000 business grant from Mr. Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The grant, awarded to 500 women entrepreneurs across Badagry Local Government, Olorunda, and Badagry West Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), was part of a broader empowerment initiative aimed at strengthening small businesses and boosting local economies. The event, held at Fadesh Hotels, Badagry, was organized by the Lagos League of Champions in collaboration with Youth in Business for Seyi Tinubu.

While the initiative was designed to support women regardless of political affiliation, it sparked an emotional reaction from one of the beneficiaries, who declared that she was leaving the PDP after receiving financial assistance. The woman, whose video has since gone viral, expressed her deep gratitude, stating that she had never benefited from such support in her previous political engagements.

Prominent political leader Mr. Peter Atindekun lauded Seyi Tinubu for his generosity, urging other well-meaning Nigerians to follow suit in empowering grassroots entrepreneurs. Several beneficiaries also shared their appreciation, emphasizing how the grant would transform their businesses and lives.

The move has drawn widespread attention, with many describing it as a testament to the growing influence of the Tinubu administration's empowerment initiatives. As calls for similar interventions increase, the impact of such programs on political realignments at the grassroots level remains to be seen.
