Ogunlende Opens New Opportunities for 250 Lagos Youths, Teachers Through AI, Solar Empowerment

In a significant boost to youth empowerment and educational development in Lagos State, Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende (RAK), has facilitated a strategic partnership that has equipped 250 youths and teachers with practical skills, work tools and professional support.

The intervention, delivered through the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) in partnership with Prima Viaris Training & Consulting Nigeria, targets three critical areas of human capital development: artificial intelligence, renewable energy and teachers' professional development.

A total of 100 youths received intensive training in Artificial Intelligence, with each beneficiary provided with a laptop to support practical learning and application.

Another 100 young people underwent training in solar technology and received solar panels and essential working tools to enable them to put their knowledge into practice and tap into opportunities in the growing renewable energy industry.

Beyond youth empowerment, the initiative extended its impact to 50 teachers from riverine and rural communities across Lagos State.

The teachers participated in a week-long professional development and welfare programme, receiving laptops, solar devices, safety equipment, stipends and essential teaching aids to strengthen their capacity and improve classroom delivery.

The programme concluded with a ceremony at Ivy Hotel, Aromire, Ikeja, where the inclusion of Persons Living with Disabilities further demonstrated its commitment to making empowerment opportunities accessible to people from different backgrounds and circumstances.

Ogunlende commended NCDMB and Prima Viaris for their investment and commitment to developing young people and supporting teachers across the state.

He charged the beneficiaries to take full advantage of the opportunity, apply their newly acquired knowledge and make productive use of the equipment provided, noting that the real value of empowerment lies in its ability to create lasting impact beyond the training period.

The initiative underscores Ogunlende's efforts to facilitate development-oriented partnerships that connect Lagos residents with emerging economic opportunities while strengthening the educational workforce, particularly in underserved communities.

With 200 youths trained in two emerging technical fields and 50 teachers supported with professional and welfare packages, the intervention brings technology, employability and educational development together in one coordinated empowerment effort.
