The Member of the House of Representatives for Badagry Federal Constituency, Hon. Sesi Oluwaseun Whingan, has hailed teachers in Badagry for their sacrifices and dedication, describing them as critical builders of the constituency’s future.

Whingan, in his World Teachers’ Day message, said teachers do far more than deliver lessons, noting that every child they encourage, guide and inspire represents an investment in the future of Badagry.

He said his appreciation for teachers had been demonstrated through practical support, including the recognition and rewarding of outstanding educators through award programmes endorsed by the Badagry Local Government Education Authority and the Nigeria Union of Teachers.

According to the lawmaker, his educational interventions also extend to the provision of learning materials, desks and benches, support for school construction across Badagry, Olorunda and Badagry West, two school buses and annual scholarship support for students in higher institutions.

Whingan further pointed to the ongoing construction of a multipurpose hall at Ikoga Grammar School, Ikoga-Zebbe, as one of the projects aimed at creating a better learning environment for students and supporting educational development in the constituency.

He stressed that the quality of education in Badagry would remain a priority, adding that teachers must be adequately supported because of the important role they play in preparing young people for the future.

“To every teacher in Badagry, thank you for believing in our children, investing in their potential and helping to build the Badagry we all desire,” he said.

“Your work matters. Your sacrifices are appreciated. Your impact will live on.”

Whingan congratulated teachers across the constituency on World Teachers’ Day and reaffirmed his commitment to initiatives that strengthen education and create better opportunities for children in Badagry.
