Bonu Educational Support Initiative Opens 2026 Online Registration for Badagry Tertiary Students

The Bonu Educational Support Initiative BESI has commenced its 2026 electronic registration for students of Badagry studying in tertiary institutions across Nigeria, marking the fifth edition of the annual education support programme.

The initiative is conceived and sponsored by Bonu Solomon Saanu, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Badagry Constituency I and Chairman of the House Committee on Tourism Arts and Culture.

Announcing the development via his official page on Facebook, the lawmaker invited eligible students from Badagry to participate in the programme, describing it as a sustained investment in the future of the community.

According to the announcement, the scheme is open to all Badagry students in tertiary institutions, from 100 level to 500 level, irrespective of constituency, covering communities from Morogbo and Agbara through Seme and Owode.

Interested applicants are required to complete the online registration form via https://bit.ly/besi5, after which shortlisted beneficiaries will be announced alongside payment details.

Hon Bonu noted that the initiative has continued to expand in impact, with over 350 students benefiting from the 2025 edition, many of whom received financial assistance to support tuition, academic materials and other educational needs.

He reaffirmed his commitment to youth development and access to education, stating that empowering students remains a critical pillar of sustainable growth in Badagry.

The Bonu Educational Support Initiative has, over the years, become a key educational intervention in the area, drawing commendation from students, parents and community stakeholders for its consistency and transparency.

  1. One day we’ll tell ourselves the truth about this bursary program or what do you call it. It’s not proper when you say you’re organizing a bursary program for students and the shortlisted ones are not being paid. This has been going on for years and if anyone is not ready to speak on it, I will do so. Shortlisted students who because of this event miss important classes, tests and even waste their time and transport to attend the bursary event don’t later get paid and this is really bad. This has been going on for years and it isn’t fair. If the organizer knows he is not capable of paying the students then he should put the program on hold because you can’t publish news and stories and even invite top dignitaries to an event which you won’t pay qualified and shortlisted students. I just hope the organizers can do better.
