U.S. Offers $32.5 Million in Food Assistance to Nigeria

According to a statement posted on its official X handle, the assistance is targeted at internally displaced persons (IDPs) in conflict-hit areas of the country.

The support is expected to reach about 764,205 people across the Northeast and Northwest regions. It also includes extra nutritional support for 41,569 pregnant and breastfeeding women and girls, as well as 43,235 children, through electronic food vouchers.

The statement explained that with the U.S. government’s $32.5 million support, the World Food Programme in Nigeria will deliver food and nutrition aid to people displaced by conflict in affected areas.
