The Nigeria Police Force has officially announced the appointment of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), following the approval of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, NPM, Ph.D.
CSP Hundeyin, a proud son of Badagry from the distinguished Hundeyin family, brings to the role a wealth of academic excellence, professional training, and practical field experience. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in English Language from Lagos State University and a Master’s degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan. In addition, he is certified in Civil-Military Coordination from the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre, Jaji, Kaduna State.
A seasoned communicator and accomplished professional, Hundeyin is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), a member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM). His professional affiliations reflect his deep-rooted commitment to effective communication, human management, and security.
CSP Hundeyin’s career trajectory within the Force has been both diverse and impactful. He previously served as Police Public Relations Officer at the Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, and was also part of Nigeria’s contingent to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan (UNAMID) in 2020. He has equally served as Administration Officer at the Force Public Relations Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja. Until his latest appointment, he was the Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Police Command, where he distinguished himself as a voice of the Force, particularly during sensitive and high-profile cases.
In announcing his appointment, the Inspector-General of Police tasked CSP Hundeyin to harness his extensive communication skills and security expertise to strengthen the Force’s public engagement strategies, ensuring transparency, accountability, and sustained trust between the Police and Nigerians.
Outgoing FPRO, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, mnipr, mipra, fCAI, expressed confidence that CSP Hundeyin will further enhance the image and operations of the Nigeria Police Force through effective public relations and strategic communication.
With this new role, Hundeyin steps into a national spotlight where his expertise in both law enforcement and public communication will be instrumental in shaping the perception and narrative of the Nigeria Police Force in the eyes of the public and international community.
