FG Introduces New Curriculum for Secondary Schools: Programming, AI, and Coding Included – See Full List of Subjects

The Federal Government has unveiled a brand-new curriculum for secondary schools across Nigeria, set to take effect from the next academic session in September 2025.

The full breakdown of subjects recently surfaced online after the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, shared the details on his X handle on Wednesday. He posted an image—though unsigned and unmarked—showing the new subject lineup for both Junior Secondary School (JSS) and Senior Secondary School (SSS).

According to Olusegun, the updated curriculum makes digital literacy and basic entrepreneurship compulsory at the JSS level, while programming, artificial intelligence, and new languages will form part of the core learning at the SSS level.
