With the July 12 Local Government Elections fast approaching, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has convened a high-level stakeholders’ meeting with All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and candidates across the state.
The crucial strategy session, scheduled to hold at the Lagos House, Marina, is aimed at strengthening internal coordination, rallying grassroots support, and fine-tuning the party’s approach ahead of the polls.
APC Publicity Secretary, Hon. Seye Oladejo, who disclosed the development in a statement on Sunday, said the meeting will bring together a broad spectrum of the party's leadership — including elected and appointed officials, party executives, and all APC chairmanship and councillorship candidates.
Describing the parley as “a rallying point for the mobilisation of our troops,” Oladejo emphasised that Governor Sanwo-Olu’s leadership remains pivotal to the party’s strategy and cohesion heading into the elections.
“Our party deeply appreciates the continued trust and support of Lagos residents, whose belief in the APC’s progressive ideals has fueled the state’s unmatched development across all sectors,” Oladejo noted.
He expressed confidence that the achievements recorded at the local government level — particularly in education, primary healthcare, housing, and social welfare — would resonate with voters and translate into widespread electoral victory for APC candidates.
The APC had earlier, on Tuesday, officially presented flags to its 57 chairmanship and 376 councillorship candidates at a colourful ceremony held at the party’s state secretariat in Ogba. The event also signaled the formal kickoff of the APC’s campaign activities across Lagos State.
As the countdown to election day continues, the upcoming meeting at the Lagos House is expected to energise the party’s base and reaffirm Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to grassroots governance and party unity.
