Badagry born musician, producer and songwriter, Prince Samuel Temitayo Moses, popularly known as Loco De La Cruz, has unveiled his forthcoming music project, Tales of Love Stories, describing it as a new chapter in his journey as an artist and a celebration of love in its different forms.
Loco De La Cruz, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of UNO Entertainment Empire, made this known at a press conference in Badagry where he spoke about his musical journey, his connection with Badagry and his vision for the new project.
The artiste, who described himself as a proud Badagry boy from Ondo State, said he had spent almost all his life in Badagry, where he attended Javy Model Children School and State High School.
According to him, Badagry is not only where he comes from but also a major part of the story behind the person he has become.
“Badagry is a place I represent, a place I love, and a place that has contributed greatly to the person I am today. This is home to me, and wherever I go, I carry Badagry with me,” he said.
Reflecting on his musical journey, Loco said his path had been characterised by excitement, challenges, disappointments, learning and growth.
He explained that he began his journey with a passion for creating music, producing sounds and writing songs before gradually developing himself from a producer into a recording artiste.
Speaking on Tales of Love Stories, he said the project was inspired by the different experiences people encounter in relationships and matters of the heart.
“Tales of Love Stories is more than just an EP to me. Love is something almost everybody can relate to. We have all experienced love in different ways. We have loved someone, lost someone, missed someone, celebrated someone, been disappointed, healed, started again, or simply wondered what could have been,” he said.
Loco explained that the project seeks to capture the beautiful, painful, humorous and reflective sides of love while allowing listeners to connect their own experiences to the music.
He also disclosed that the upcoming Tales of Love Stories Concert and EP Listening Party would be designed as more than a conventional music event.
According to him, his ambition is to create an experience where fans can connect deeply with the songs and recognise parts of their own stories in the music.
“I want someone to hear a song and say, ‘This is my story.’ I want people to come with their own experiences, their own memories, their own emotions, and leave feeling that they were part of something meaningful,” he said.
The Badagry born artiste further said the project would also serve as a platform to showcase the creative potential of Badagry and change perceptions about where quality music and creative talents can emerge from.
“I want people to know that great music, great artists, producers, creatives, and great ideas can come from Badagry. I represent Badagry, and I am proud of where I come from,” he stated.
Loco said his expectations for the project were centred around connection, growth and impact, expressing his desire to see the music move from Badagry to Lagos, across Nigeria and Africa, and eventually to audiences around the world.
He also expressed hope that the project would create opportunities for collaborations, partnerships and new relationships with people who share his vision.
While acknowledging that he is still building his career, Loco said he remained committed to learning, creating and pursuing bigger dreams.
He thanked his family, team members, fellow creatives, artistes, producers, the media and the people of Badagry for their support, particularly those who continue to listen to and believe in his music.
He also urged music lovers and members of the public to attend the forthcoming concert and listening party with their friends, partners and personal experiences.
“Come with your friends. Come with your partner. Come with your memories. Come with your own love story, because on that day, we're not just listening to my stories. We'll be celebrating all our stories,” he said.
Loco De La Cruz concluded by describing Tales of Love Stories as only the beginning of a bigger journey, while reaffirming his pride in Badagry and his determination to take his music beyond the shores of the community.
