The Back-to-School intervention of the Olorunda Local Council Development Area Chairman, Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, reached another milestone on its fourth day as more than 800 pupils received school bags, notebooks and other writing materials across five schools in the council area.
The Day Four exercise began on a personal note for Ajose as he led the distribution at Mowo Primary School, his alma mater.
Accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Folashade Ajose, Supervisor for Education, Hon. Bankole Afeez, Councillor representing Ward C, Hon. Elijah John, and other council officials, the chairman personally presented the learning materials to pupils at the school.
Ajose later left for an official engagement, after which Mrs. Folashade Ajose took charge of the distribution as the team moved to other communities.
The team visited Anglican Primary School, Mosafejo-Aradagun, Anglican Primary School, Imeke, MMC School, Iworo, Anglican Primary School, Igbanko and Anglican Primary School, Iworo, where more than 800 pupils benefited from the intervention.
The distribution was also supported by the Chief of Staff, Hon. Cornelius Akinyele, Head of Education, Mrs. Bunmi Onashile Idowu, and Hon. Bamgbose Gbenga, Councillor representing Ward B.
The latest exercise brings the initiative's reach even further, following the distribution of school bags and learning materials to more than 500 pupils across four schools on Day Three.
For the Ajose administration, the initiative goes beyond the distribution of school supplies. It is aimed at easing the financial pressure on families as schools reopen while ensuring that pupils have some of the basic materials needed to start the new academic session with confidence.
With the programme continuing across more schools and communities, the council says its commitment remains focused on ensuring that no child is left behind in Olorunda's drive to strengthen education and develop its human capital.
