A new grassroots youth movement, Whingan Youth Paragon, has been formally launched in Badagry with a mandate to mobilize, organize, and empower young people in support of the leadership vision and future political journey of the Member of the House of Representatives for Badagry Federal Constituency, Hon. Sesi Oluwaseun Whingan, beyond 2027.
The movement, popularly known as WYP, draws its strength from the streets, schools, markets, neighborhoods, and communities across Badagry. It brings together young people who share a belief in purposeful leadership, inclusive governance, and development that delivers real impact at the grassroots.
At the unveiling, leaders of the group described Whingan Youth Paragon as a platform created to give youths a collective voice in shaping the political future of their communities. They noted that the movement is anchored on continuity, competence, and people-centered leadership, principles they said have consistently defined Hon. Sesi Whingan’s record in public service.
According to the leadership, WYP is focused on deepening political awareness among young people while opening doors for civic participation through volunteering, issue-based advocacy, and community engagement. The group plans to deploy door-to-door mobilization, community outreach, civic education programmes, town hall meetings, and youth-led initiatives to build a strong base of support across Badagry, with a long-term vision of expanding its reach beyond the area.
Members of the movement stressed that Whingan Youth Paragon is more than a political support structure. They described it as a service-driven platform committed to accountability, community development, and collective progress, with the goal of raising a new generation of politically conscious and socially responsible youths.
As conversations around the post-2027 political landscape begin to take shape, the group reaffirmed its commitment to building a united and resilient grassroots youth base rooted in trust, participation, and transformational leadership in support of Hon. Sesi Whingan’s vision for Badagry and beyond.
