The 54-year-old actor broke the heartbreaking news on Saturday through a post on his Instagram page, though he chose not to share details about the circumstances of his son’s death.
Posting a photo of the late boy, Chatta wrote: “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on, dear son, champ.”
His colleagues and fans have since filled the comment section with messages of sympathy and prayers.
This tragedy comes just days after veteran actress Peju Ogunmola also lost her only son, Ayomikun, who died earlier this week in Ibadan in his early 30s.
For Chatta, this is not the first time he is facing such a painful loss. Back in June, he recalled how he lost his first child, a daughter, many years ago. He revealed that poverty and lack of proper medical care contributed to her death, and that he was forced to bury her in an old wooden Coca-Cola crate because he couldn’t afford a coffin.
