Lagos Authorities Move Against Illegal Trading at Mile 2

The Lagos State Government has stepped up efforts to restore order on busy roads as enforcement officers dislodged street traders at 2nd Rainbow Junction, inward Mile 2.

In a video posted on Monday by the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, task force officials were seen clearing traders whose activities had been blocking traffic, putting pedestrians at risk, and leaving the area littered.

Wahab said the exercise is part of the state’s wider campaign to keep Lagos roads clean, safe, and free of obstructions.

“Our enforcement team is currently clearing illegal street traders at 2nd Rainbow Junction, inward Mile 2. Their activities obstruct traffic flow, endanger pedestrians, and degrade the environment,” he noted.

He added that the government would sustain its drive to maintain a more organized and livable city.

In recent months, Lagos has intensified its crackdown on street trading and other environmental violations, insisting the measures are necessary to ease congestion, protect lives, and promote a healthier city environment.
