The Chief Executive Officer of Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited, Sijibomi Ogundele, better known as Sujimoto, has dismissed allegations of fraud, insisting he is neither a thief nor a fugitive.
Ogundele made the declaration in a video released on Friday, following reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had declared him wanted over alleged money laundering and diversion of funds linked to his company.
According to him, the allegations are connected to a fallout with the Enugu State government over a series of construction projects. He explained that after being invited to handle several developments, including the design of what was supposed to be Nigeria’s tallest building — a proposed 69-storey tower — the deal eventually turned sour due to rising construction costs.
Sujimoto maintained that he would personally appear before the EFCC to clear his name and address all issues surrounding the contract with the Enugu State government.
