Yomi Bodunrin Badejo-Okusanya, fondly called YBO has been sworn in as the 12th President of the Igbobi College Old Boys Association (ICOBA). The ceremony, which took place on September 20, 2025, was attended by generations of old boys from the prestigious Lagos institution.
In his acceptance speech, Badejo-Okusanya expressed gratitude and humility, recalling his journey at Igbobi College, which began on September 2, 1974. He noted that his appointment was a testament to ICOBA's commitment to equal opportunities, saying, "Just like the biblical Joseph, one of the stones once rejected has now become the cornerstone of this building."
As president, Badejo-Okusanya outlined six key areas of focus: building a formidable ICOBA Endowment Fund, driving infrastructure development, constructing a new hostel for Parker House, enhancing student welfare, projecting the Igbobi College brand globally, and fostering inclusivity within the association. He pledged to leave the association better than he found it, building on the legacies of past presidents.
He also emphasized the importance of reinvesting in Igbobi College, stating that "the future of this great institution cannot and must not be left to ICOBA alone." He assured students and staff of continued support and closed his remarks with a pledge of service, promising to lead with integrity and vision.
The inauguration was attended by distinguished old boys, the media and well-wishers
With his vision and leadership, Badejo-Okusanya is poised to make a lasting impact on ICOBA and Igbobi College in general.
