In Nigerian politics, loud promises and fancy slogans often overshadow real impact. But for the people of Badagry Constituency 1, experience has taught them that governance isn’t about what politicians say — it’s about what they do. They’ve seen enough to know the difference between empty words and meaningful action.
Hon. Bonu Solomon Saanu stands out in a field crowded with talkers. He didn’t come into office with noise or theatrics. He came with intention. And in just one term, he has delivered results that speak far louder than any campaign speech.
One of the most powerful examples of his leadership is his approach to empowerment. He didn’t follow the usual path of handing out souvenirs and making one-time donations. Instead, he focused on real empowerment — the kind that gives people the tools and resources they need to stand on their own. Women traders, young artisans, and small business owners in Badagry have benefited directly from access to capital, training, equipment, and exposure. These efforts were not just done for show; they are continuous and carefully targeted at reducing poverty and building real livelihoods. That is what true representation looks like.
When it comes to education, Hon. Bonu didn’t just talk about helping students — he made it happen. Through the Bonu-Sanwo-Tinubu Scholarship Scheme, hundreds of outstanding and less-privileged students of Badagry origin have received scholarships across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels nationwide. What makes this effort even more commendable is how it is done: transparently, without unnecessary publicity, and always focused on those who truly need the support. In a country where education is increasingly out of reach for many, this is leadership with a long-term vision.
Youth empowerment is another area where Hon. Bonu has set a new standard. While many politicians use the phrase as a campaign slogan, in Badagry Constituency 1 it has become a reality. Through his efforts, young people have been linked to real job opportunities, skill acquisition programs, and even federal appointments. He has created access in places where there used to be none, breaking down walls and opening doors for the next generation.
Development is not something you can hide — it’s either there or it’s not. And in Badagry Constituency 1, the evidence of Hon. Bonu’s work is visible. Roads have been repaired, schools renovated, boreholes drilled, and other critical infrastructure has received attention. These aren’t photo ops — they are tangible improvements that have made daily life better for the people he represents. Constituents don’t need to be reminded; they live the reality of his efforts every day.
As the 2025 elections approach, the people of Badagry Constituency 1 must pause and reflect. Will they vote for words or for results? Will they hand over the future to sweet-talking politicians with no track record, or will they stand by a leader who has proven himself in service, time and again?
The stakes are too high for experiments. We cannot afford to trade a working formula for guesswork. Leadership is not a trial-and-error affair — it is a sacred duty. Hon. Bonu has carried that duty with humility, consistency, and visible results.
Now is not the time to turn away from progress. Now is the time to protect it, to build on it, and to move forward with someone who has earned our trust.
Let us return Hon. Bonu Solomon Saanu — not because of party politics or promises, but because of his performance. He is not just occupying a seat; he is using it to serve.
In the end, promises fade, but results remain. And Hon. Bonu has delivered.
Hon. Gbesoevi Taiwo
Constituent, Advocate for Responsible Representation
