Whingan’s Aide, Jimoh Joel, Emerges National Secretary of NYMEF

Zannu Jimoh Joel, a Senior Legislative Assistant to Hon. Sesi Oluwaseun Whingan, Member of the House of Representatives for Badagry Federal Constituency, has been appointed as the National Secretary of the Nigeria Youth Mentorship and Entrepreneurship Forum (NYMEF).

The appointment was confirmed following an update on the organization’s official website — nymef.org — which listed Joel as part of the new national executive council. He joins Comrade Sahabi Mamuda Auna, who serves as the National Chairman, and Okafor Ebelechukwu as Vice Chairman, among other youth leaders steering the affairs of the organization nationwide.

NYMEF, a youth-led and youth-centered organization, was founded with a strong belief that Nigerian youth are not just leaders of tomorrow, but vital change-makers of today. The group is committed to unlocking the vast potential of young Nigerians through mentorship, entrepreneurship, education, and inclusive engagement.

“Our mission is to improve the quality of youthful life through mentoring, guidance, and progressive activities that inspire a better Nigeria,” the platform states. “We invest in skills training, orientation, competitions, sports, and education to shape socially responsible and self-reliant leaders.”

Reacting to the news, Hon. Sesi Whingan expressed pride in his aide’s elevation, describing it as a reflection of the growing recognition of young professionals from Badagry on national platforms.

“Jimoh Joel’s emergence is not only a personal achievement but a win for the youth of Badagry,” Hon. Whingan said. “It shows that with dedication and focus, our young people can contribute meaningfully to national growth.”

With his new role, Joel is expected to play a key part in shaping policies and programs that empower young Nigerians across the country.

His appointment has drawn praise from youth groups and political observers in Badagry, who see it as a step forward in advancing youth development and representation at the national level.
