Olorunda LCDA Workers to Honour Outgoing Chairman Samson Olatunde at Valedictory Forum

As the curtain draws on the eight-year administration of Hon. Samson Folorunso Olatunde, popularly known as Samola, the workers of Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA) are preparing to host a grand valedictory party in his honour.

The event, which also doubles as the council’s second quarter workers’ forum, is scheduled to hold on Sunday, July 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Council Multipurpose Hall in Iworo, Badagry.

The forum is being organised by the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Olorunda LCDA chapter, under the leadership of its chairman, Comrade Ogunyemi Ayo Rasheed. It is aimed at celebrating the leadership and service of Hon. Olatunde, whose tenure officially winds up this month ahead of the Lagos State Local Government Elections on July 12.

The Council Manager, Alhaji Muruf Ades Anya, will serve as the chief host of the occasion.

Olatunde’s tenure, spanning two consecutive terms, has been marked by visible infrastructural development, grassroots engagement, and improved staff welfare. His administration is widely regarded for its open-door policy and people-oriented leadership style.

The upcoming valedictory session is expected to be an emotional and celebratory gathering, bringing together council workers, political stakeholders, traditional leaders, and community members who have witnessed and benefitted from his time in office.

As Olorunda LCDA prepares for a transition in leadership, Sunday’s event will serve not only as a moment of appreciation but also as a symbolic handover between the outgoing administration and the future of the council.
