The Araromi-Ale Zone of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a show of unity and political strength on Friday declared its full support for the party's chairmanship candidate in Olorunda LCDA, Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, ahead of the July 12 local government elections.
The endorsement was made during the zone’s strategic meeting held in Araromi-Ale, convened by APC Leaders in Araromi-Ale led by Ashade Wahab, a former chairmanship aspirant and Hon. Akeem Kudoro a leader of Sustainable Hope Agenda group. The gathering brought together party stakeholders, grassroots mobilisers, and community leaders who expressed their readiness to deliver sweeping victories across all polling units in Araromi-Ale and surrounding areas.
Highlight of the meeting was the unveiling of a branded campaign vehicle donated to Hon. Kumayon to support community and street-level mobilisation efforts. Attendees described the gesture as a symbol of commitment to grassroots engagement and visibility in the final stretch of the campaign.
Hon. Kudoro, in his remarks, emphasized the strategic importance of Araromi-Ale to the economy of Olorunda LCDA. “This zone, from Araromi-Ale to Morogbo in Ward E, is the commercial nerve center of Olorunda. We believe Hon. Kumayon understands our economic value and has the capacity to grow the internally generated revenue (IGR) of the council through meaningful development,” he stated.
He further appealed to the incoming administration to consider the creation of a new traditional kingdom in Araromi-Ale as part of broader efforts to enhance grassroots development and cultural recognition.
Responding, Hon. Kumayon thanked the people of Araromi-Ale for their overwhelming show of support. He pledged to prioritize infrastructure, youth empowerment, and economic growth if elected, saying his campaign is anchored on inclusive governance and community-driven development.
With just days to the election, the Araromi-Ale endorsement is seen as a major boost to Kumayon’s chances, especially in the economically vibrant Ward E axis of Olorunda LCDA.
The meeting ended with chants of solidarity and renewed commitment to APC’s victory at the polls.
