As preparations intensify for the July 12 Local Government Elections in Lagos State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Badagry West has appointed Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende, popularly known as RAK, as Director-General of its Campaign Committee.
The announcement was made as the party unveiled a robust 60-member campaign team, signalling its readiness to engage voters and consolidate grassroots support across the LCDA. Ogunlende, a native of Asheri in Badagry West, brings both political energy and administrative experience to the role.
Also named in the leadership structure are the incumbent Council Chairman, Hon. Gbenu Joseph, who will serve as Chairman of the committee, and the APC Badagry West LGA Chairman, Hon. Peter Metome, who will serve as Co-Chairman. Both will serve in ex-officio capacities to lend institutional strength to the campaign.
Reacting to his appointment, Ogunlende expressed gratitude and outlined his vision:
“I’m honoured to lead this strategic effort. Our focus will be on unity, youth inclusion, and a data-driven campaign that truly connects with our communities. We’re not just campaigning—we’re building a movement that reflects the competence and commitment of the APC in Badagry West.”
He described the campaign team as a blend of seasoned leaders and vibrant new voices, all selected for their proven dedication to service and integrity.
“Our goal is clear: to deliver victory for Hon. Rauf Kayode Yemaren, fondly known as Rikay, as Chairman, Princess Nutayi as Vice Chair, and all our councillorship candidates across the five wards. This is a united front, and together, we will turn our shared vision into electoral success,” he added.
The campaign committee is expected to roll out an aggressive, grassroots-focused mobilization strategy in the coming days, with community engagement, youth outreach, and voter education high on the agenda.
With Ogunlende’s appointment, the APC in Badagry West is positioning itself not only for victory but to deepen its connection with the electorate—especially the youth who form a significant portion of the voting population.
