Lagos LG Elections: We'll Takeover 6 Councils in Alimosho - PDP Threatens APC

As the July 12 local government elections approach, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Alimosho has declared its readiness to take control of all six councils within the area, challenging the dominance of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking on Saturday, the PDP Chairman in Alimosho, Hon. Isiaka Shodiya, expressed confidence in the party’s growing strength and popularity. He emphasized that the PDP is fully mobilized and united ahead of the polls, with strong support across Alimosho LGA and its five Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) — Igando-Ikotun, Egbe-Idimu, Mosan-Okunola, Ayobo-Ipaja, and Agbado-Oke Odo.

“We are proud of the PDP today. We are united and determined to win across all council areas in this local government,” Shodiya stated. “PDP is fully on ground in Alimosho and Lagos State. By the special grace of Almighty God, we shall be victorious.”

Shodiya called on the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) to guarantee a free, fair, and transparent election, warning against any form of manipulation.

He also took a swipe at the APC, accusing the party of failing to meet the expectations of residents. “The ruling party has not delivered on its promises. People are tired of empty rhetoric,” he said.

The PDP leader urged residents of Alimosho and Lagos at large to turn out in large numbers on election day and vote for PDP candidates, whom he described as more competent and people-focused.

The PDP had earlier unveiled its chairmanship and councillorship candidates for the six councils during a rally held in Lagos on Wednesday, signaling its full preparedness for the grassroots battle.

With Alimosho being the most populous local government in Lagos State, the July 12 election is shaping up to be a major test of political strength between the APC and PDP.
