The lawmaker representing Badagry Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Sesi Oluwaseun Whingan, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Nigerian Youth Mentorship and Entrepreneurship Forum (NYMEF), a national platform focused on grooming young leaders and entrepreneurs across the country.
The appointment was formally presented today at Hon. Whingan’s office in the National Assembly, Abuja. Executives of the Forum, led by its National President, Comrade Sahabi Auna, made the presentation in a brief but symbolic ceremony that highlighted the Forum’s appreciation for Hon. Whingan’s track record of service.
Comrade Auna described the lawmaker’s selection as a natural fit, citing his consistent dedication to youth empowerment, mentorship, and community development initiatives within Lagos State.
“Your passion for guiding young people and your consistent efforts in community building make you a valuable asset to our mission,” he said while handing over the official appointment document.
As a Board of Trustee member, Hon. Whingan will also serve on the Forum’s National Working Committee, a role that will place him at the heart of shaping national policies and programs aimed at empowering Nigerian youth.
In his remarks, Hon. Whingan expressed deep appreciation for the honour, reaffirming his commitment to helping young Nigerians find direction and purpose.
“I am humbled by this recognition and fully aligned with the Forum’s vision. Our young people deserve the right support, mentorship, and tools to reach their full potential. I will continue to do my part to make sure they get that,” he stated.
The Nigerian Youth Mentorship and Entrepreneurship Forum is a prominent national initiative dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders through strategic mentorship, skills development, and policy advocacy.
With this appointment, Hon. Whingan continues to solidify his reputation as a strong advocate for youth development and grassroots transformation, not just in Badagry, but across Nigeria.
