After decades without a dedicated school hall, students and staff of Ikoga Junior Grammar School and Ikoga Senior Grammar School in Ikoga-Zebbe, Badagry, are set to get a new multi-purpose facility as construction begins on a project facilitated by the Member of the House of Representatives for Badagry Federal Constituency, Hon. Sesi Oluwaseun Whingan.
Badagry Today checks at the schools confirmed that construction work has commenced on the multi-purpose hall, with the project being executed by the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization, NCAM.
The facility is expected to provide a much-needed space for both schools, which have for decades operated without a common hall for major school activities.
Upon completion, the hall will serve both the junior and senior schools and is expected to accommodate activities including assemblies, examinations, meetings, academic programmes and other school functions.
The commencement of the project brings a new development to the Ikoga school community, where the absence of a dedicated hall has remained a longstanding infrastructure challenge.
For students, teachers and the wider community, the project represents a significant addition to the educational infrastructure of Ikoga-Zebbe and another step towards improving the facilities available to learners in the area.
