Taylor Frankie Paul, the Utah-based TikTok influencer who became one of the biggest names in the “MomTok” world, is once again making headlines after her planned run as the next star of The Bachelorette was quietly scrapped.
Taylor, who first gained fame through her lighthearted motherhood and lifestyle videos on TikTok, was announced in September 2025 as the lead for Season 22 of The Bachelorette. The announcement was made during an appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast and would have made Taylor the first lead in the history of the franchise who had never previously appeared on the show.
But despite the excitement surrounding her selection, the plans never moved forward as the reality star continued to face mounting personal and legal challenges.
Taylor first rose to national attention in 2022 after revealing that she and several other Mormon influencers were involved in a “soft swinging” arrangement. The revelation quickly became a viral scandal and drew widespread attention to the close-knit circle of Utah content creators known as “MomTok”.
The controversy later became a central part of Hulu’s reality series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, where Taylor emerged as one of the show’s most talked-about personalities.
Away from social media, Taylor is a mother of three. She shares two children with her former husband, Tate Paul, and welcomed a third child in 2023 with Dakota Mortensen.
Speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Taylor admitted that balancing family life has not been easy.
“How do I make this work? I’m a co-parent. I have two baby daddies not one, so I’m dealing with two different people, my children, my home base is here,” she said.
Taylor was married to Tate Paul in 2016, and the couple spent nearly five years together before separating in 2021. She later admitted that the fallout from the swinging scandal placed enormous pressure on their relationship.
“It changed everything between us. Once it was out there, there was no going back,” she said.
Her troubles deepened in February 2023 when she was arrested following a domestic dispute involving Dakota Mortensen, who was then her boyfriend. Taylor later described the incident as the lowest point of her life.
Although some of the charges were eventually dropped, the case returned to public attention in 2026 after TMZ released video footage from the incident. The footage reportedly showed Taylor throwing chairs and confronting Dakota during the altercation, reigniting criticism and intense public scrutiny.
Now, Taylor is facing yet another major turning point in her life.
On April 5, 2026, she revealed through Instagram Stories that she is stepping away from the Mormon Church after years of questioning her faith and place within it.
“Born and raised Mormon and I’ll always have love and respect towards it. I’ll even continue to go with my family at times, with that being said, it’s time to detach myself from it,” she wrote.
Taylor explained that although she still believes in God, she no longer feels fully connected to some of the expectations of the church. She said she wants to explore her beliefs in a more personal and independent way.
“I believe we are loved whether we are praying in church or at home,” she added.
For Taylor Frankie Paul, the spotlight has brought fame, fortune and a devoted following. But behind the viral videos and reality television success is a woman navigating heartbreak, controversy, motherhood and an uncertain future, all while the world continues to watch.
